Ibis Styles Kyoto Station received the internationally recognized environmental certification "Green Key" on January 6, 2026.
Green Key is an international eco-label run by the Denmark-based Foundation for International Environmental Education (FEE) to promote sustainable tourism.
This certification evaluates and verifies that the environmental policies and operations of accommodation facilities are based on strict standards, and has been awarded to over 8,000 facilities in over 90 countries worldwide.

Sustainability and Environmental Policy
1. Basic philosophy
As a hotel located in Kyoto, a city where history and nature coexist in harmony, Ibis Styles Kyoto Station aims to operate sustainably with consideration for the local community and the environment.
We recognize our role in the global environmental industry and will actively contribute to the sustainable development of the tourism industry as a whole by striving for long-term, sustainable operations.

2. Environmental Initiatives
Improving energy efficiency: We will strive to reduce energy consumption by promoting the introduction of LED lighting and energy-saving equipment.
Conservation of water resources: We will install water-saving equipment and ask guests to help conserve water.
Waste reduction and recycling: We will thoroughly separate waste and improve recycling rates, while also working to reduce the use of plastic.
Green Procurement: We prioritize the selection of environmentally friendly products and services.

We actively utilize local ingredients and products to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.

Water resource conservation and environmental considerations
Our hotel is taking the following measures to ensure the sustainable use of water resources.
・We record the total amount of water used and strive to reduce the burden on the environment.
・The water flow rate within the facility is set at 8 liters per minute to conserve water.
・We use environmentally friendly cleaning agents to minimize the impact of wastewater on the natural environment.
・The tap water in the guest rooms is safe to drink.
                                                    
Energy conservation efforts
As an environmentally friendly accommodation, our hotel strives to use energy efficiently and reduce its environmental impact.
・We aim to operate sustainably by regularly recording and managing energy consumption.
・The building utilizes a system that optimally controls heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to achieve both comfort and energy savings.
